"Our first involvement with Badges Plus was at the very beginning of the National Miners Strike (1984). After doing much research into the industry to determine which company would be both sympathetic to the movement, and cost effective, Badges Plus ticked all boxes. One of the first NUM badges produced was Mardy, last pit in the Rhonda, paid for at cost price to allow the maximum profits for the hardship funds. Since that time, Badges Plus have designed and produced countless millions of all manner of memorabilia for both the Labour and Trade Union movement, covering every conceivable campaign imaginable, as well as for the commercial markets. As an active Trade Union official, I can safely say that our company is the only Trade Union Organised enterprise within this field, being part of the Graphical, Paper and Media Sector of UNITE the union. Badges Plus is not only sympathetic, it is also quite innovative, both in the assistance of design, and also with the production methods, always looking for better and productive means that will assist in the finished Media article that brings out the best in whichever campaign it produces for. It has been my pride to have been associated with Badges Plus for at least 25 years, enjoying a good working relationship with both management and members, past and present, and am confident that this will continue."
