Manufacturing
Welcome to the Badges Plus manufacturing section.
Here we will breakdown our processes stage by stage to help you understand how badges are made here in the UK; from design, through to inspection and despatch.
Stage 1 - Producing Tooling
The first stage of badge manufacturing is creating the tooling needed for the job.
Stage 2 - Press
Metal is loaded into the press which exerts up to 250 tons of pressure on the tooling, imprinting the design in the metal.
Stage 3 - Clipping
The stamping is then clipped out to shape using more tooling, which removes any excess metal.
Stage 4 - Soldering
A form of solder is then applied to the metal…..
Stage 4 - Soldering
...The fittings are then placed onto the solder and baked in ovens.
Stage 5 - Polishing
We then either have a 3 stage barrel polish or...
Stage 5 - Polishing
...each item is polished by hand.
Stage 6 - Plating
The products are then cleaned and wired up...
Stage 6 - Plating
...ready for plating.
Stage 7 - Enamelling
They are then passed onto our enamellers who colour each section based on your design.
Stage 8 - Inspection
Each item has one final quality inspection to make sure they are up to our standards.
Stage 9 - Packaging
They are then packaged up to your specification.
Stage 10 - Despatch
When we are happy with the final product they are boxed up and despatched.
